We are seeking individuals who are looking to be a part of a growing team that is working to make substantive and sustainable change in the lives of disenfranchised people all over the world.
We are looking for people who are willing to volunteer their time, whether as part of our general administration or as a director.
Purpose of Role:
As a volunteer you will be part of a dynamic team and will be contributing in a particular area of expertise as required by Synergy Global Alliance Foundation. The volunteer role has three primary functions:
- To ensure SGAF stays focused on its mission and strategy for each programmes listed above.
- To make contributions and connections on how best the programmes can be successful
- To provide support in terms of logistics and promotion of SGAF’s objects.
Specific responsibilities will be delegated to a volunteer team leader under clearly defined terms of reference.
Day-to-day leadership and management of the volunteers will be overseen by this team leader.
The Role of a Volunteer
All volunteers are required to understand the objectives of SGAF and to remain in adherence of those objectives and our ethics. Once we have a one-to-one discussion to understand your area of contribution, a detailed role description will be provided to you.
In addition to the above duties, each volunteer should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help SGAF reach sound decisions and fulfil its vision. This may involve:
- Scrutinising projects during operational phase
- Leading discussions
- Focusing on key issues
- Providing guidance on new initiatives
- Sitting on recruitment and disciplinary and grievance panels as appropriate
- Other issues in which the volunteer has special expertise

- Sports, Music and Cultural Sector
- Event Planning
- Networking and Partnership Development
Commitment Required:
In order to fulfil the requirements of the role, volunteers should endeavour to attend all scheduled meetings (to be confirmed). There will be one meeting each month and these meetings will be conducted electronically. Papers are sent out in advance of the meetings and volunteers will be expected to have scrutinised the papers ahead of time in order to effectively contribute to discussion. Additionally, there may be additional areas of SGAF’s work that volunteers will be involved with, for example:
- Policy forums
- Volunteer consultation events
- HR processes
- Publicity events
- Volunteer day- A meet-up social event for all volunteers
- Introducing & managing your own initiative under the foundation’s platform
